Inspection of the Air Conditioner

Danger: Electric vehicles are equipped with a high-voltage system. Do not attempt any type of electrical work on the vehicle unless you have completed HV3 Daimler Safety Training. Failure to do so could cause severe personal injury or death.

Warning: Wear eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing when working on the air conditioning system. Leaking refrigerant from a damaged hose or line could cause blindness or serious skin burns.

Preliminary Checks

  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the vehicle, and set the parking brake. Chock the tires.
  2. Check the tightness of the compressor mounting fasteners. For instructions and torque values, see Threaded Fastener Types, General Information of the eCascadia™ Workshop Manual .
  3. Check for a buildup of road debris on the condenser fins. For cleaning instructions, see General Description, Cab Heater and Air Conditioner of the eCascadia Workshop Manual.
