Air Compressor Oil and Filter Change

  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the vehicle, and apply the parking brake. Chock the tires.
  2. Open the hood.
  3. Remove the air compressor air filter.
  4. Clean the area around the fill plug.
  5. Remove the fill plug.
  6. Drain the air compressor oil using one of the following methods.
    • Place a drain pan under the air compressor and remove the drain plug.

    • Use a syringe or hand pump to remove the oil from the air compressor.

  7. Fill using the approved air compressor oil described in Table. until the oil level reaches the bottom threads of the fill plug. Fig. shows the location of the oil port and air filter.

    1. Tighten the fill plug to 21 to 24 lbf·ft (28 to 32 N·m).
    2. Install a new filter.
    3. Close the hood.
