eCarrier Oil Filter and Fluid Change

  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the vehicle, and set the parking brakes. Chock the tires.
  2. Place a drain pan under the drain plug of the eCarrier.
  3. Remove the drain plug and oil filter shown in Fig..

  4. Let the oil drain out of the eCarrier.
  5. Note: There is a spring behind the drain plug. Catch the drain plug as it releases from the eCarrier.

  6. Remove oil filter from the eCarrier oil pump.
  7. Clean any debris out of the mesh filter shown in Fig..

  8. Install a new oil filter onto the eCarrier oil pump.
  9. Install the drain plug and filter. Tighten the drain plug 111 lbf·ft (150 N·m).
  10. Remove the fill plug shown in Fig..

  11. Fill the eCarrier with oil until the oil level reaches the fill plug threads. See Table..
  12. Important: The lubricant used in eCarrier (eMotor) must meet Detroit Fluids Specification (DFS) 93K230. For more product information, see DDC-SVC-BRO-121 on the DTNA Connect Portal.

  13. Install the oil fill plug. Tighten the fill plug 85 lbf·ft (115 N·m).
