Inspection of Turbocharger and Charge Air Cooler - Ops - DD5
Inspect turbocharger and charge air cooler as follows:
- Visually inspect the turbocharger mountings, intake and exhaust ducting, and connections for leaks daily.
- Check the lubricating oil inlet and outlet lines for leaks or restrictions to oil flow.
- Check
the turbocharger for unusual noise or vibration and, if excessive,
stop the engine and do not operate until the cause is determined.
- Periodically inspect the air-to-air charge air cooler for buildup of dirt, mud, or other debris. Clean as necessary.
- Check the charge air cooler, duct work, and flexible connections for leaks and repair or replace as required.
Warning: PERSONAL INJURY
To avoid injury from hot surfaces, wear protective gloves, or allow engine to cool before removing any component.
