Lubricating the Drag Link

Notice: If a power washer is used to clean the chassis in the area of the drag link ends, you must adjust the drag link lubrication intervals. If the vehicle is power-washed often, you must lubricate the drag link more frequently.

  1. Using a clean rag, wipe the dirt from both grease fittings on the drag link. See Fig..
  2. Using a pressure gun, apply multipurpose chassis grease at the grease fittings until old grease is forced out of the socket.

    Note: Use multipurpose chassis grease NLGI grade 1 (6% 12-hydroxy lithium stearate grease) or NLGI grade 2 (8% 12-hydroxy lithium stearate grease). The grade 2 chassis grease is preferred.
