Replacement of the CNG High-Pressure Fuel Filter

Freightliner dealer. Failure to observe these precautions could lead
to the ignition of the natural gas, which could cause severe bodily
harm, or death, or property damage.
The high-pressure fuel filter is located inside of the left-hand frame rail, near the rear of the fuel tank.
- Shut off the fuel supply at the tanks.
- Vent the fuel supply system.
- After the system has been vented, remove the filter housing. See Fig..
- Remove and discard the O-ring used to seal the filter housing.
- Remove and discard the filter element.
- Install the new element and press it into place.
- Install the new O-ring.
- Apply a thread lubricant to the housing threads, and screw the filter housing onto the filter head.
- Check for leaks using a natural gas detector.
- Tighten the filter housing.
- Turn the fuel supply back on at the tanks.
