The CPC is typically located in the cab, behind
the dash (see graphic below).

Common Powertrain Controller
The CPC communicates
with other control units installed on the vehicle including the MCM,
the ACM and the TCM (if equipped) over the data link. Data for specific
applications is stored in the CPC. These include idle speed, maximum
running speed, and speed limitation. From this data, instructions
are calculated for controlling the vehicle and transmitted to the
CPC via the proprietary datalink.
