Inspection of the Air Compressor

The air compressor incorporates three of the major systems of a diesel engine (air, lubrication, and cooling). Inspect the air compressor, as part of the air system, following the recommendations in the maintenance tables using the appropriate engine duty cycle; see Preventive Maintenance Tables.

Inspect the air compressor as follows:

1. Inspect the air compressor for air, oil, and coolant leaks.
2. Inspect the lines and connection points for leaks or damage.
