Checking the Hoses - Ops
Check the hoses as follows:
- Inspect the cooling system hoses and replace any hose that shows obvious signs of damage or feels abnormally soft or hard.
- Replace damaged clamps.
- Correct all external leaks as soon as detected.
- Check coolant inhibitor levels at the intervals listed
in this manual. Current engine designs no longer use coolant filters. If you have a coolant filter, you may choose to remove the filter at your next maintenance interval. For more details reference bulletin 15TS-10Rev.
Note: If Detroit Genuine antifreeze/coolant
(or equivalent fully formulated, pre-charged antifreeze is used, a
pre-charged element is not required.
