Cold Activation

When the ambient air temperature is below 32°F (0°C), the power steering pumps go into cold activation mode. The driver is notified by the cautionary low temperature window as shown, see Fig..

In Cold Activation mode the speed of the power steering pumps is limited until the motors warm up. Power steering is available, but steering requires more effort.
