Note: Before operating the vehicle, readChapter 3,Instruments, andChapter 4,Driver Controls.
- If connected to the charging coupler, leave the parking brake set, and unplug the charging coupler from the vehicle inlet.
- Complete the applicable pre-trip inspections and maintenance procedures inChapter 17.
- Use the direction switch on the right-hand stalk switch to put the vehicle in neutral, as as shown, see Fig.
- Turn the key in the keyswitch to the ON position. The high voltage system is turned on.
- Wait for the system to do self-checks. Loud clicks are noticeable as the ABS system actuates the modulator valves. It may take up to a minute for a short buzzing sound to emit, indicating that the powertrain is ready.
- Turn the key to the START position for a minimum of ½ second. After the vehicle has started the READY telltale, as shown, see Fig., appears at the bottom of the power gauge on the driver’s display.
- Press the brake pedal while shifting the vehicle into gear, disengage the park brake, then drive.
Note: If the vehicle did not start up, or has a fault code, it may be necessary to restart the vehicle for the code to clear. Turn the key to the OFF position and wait until the dash goes dark. Repeat steps 4 through 6.
