The quality of fuel used is a very important factor in obtaining satisfactory engine performance, long engine life, and acceptable exhaust emission levels. For EPA07, EPA10, GHG14, GHG17, GHG21 and GHG Phase 2 exhaust compliant engines equipped with exhaust after treatment devices, the use of Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel (15 ppm, 0.0015% wt.) is critical to the function and service life of these devices. Use of this fuel in pre-2007 engines will provide cleaner combustion, less soot, and fewer fuel-related deposits.
