Transmission Fluid Temperature Gauge
Optional instruments are not found on every vehicle. They are stand-alones, not driven by the instrument cluster, and are usually located on the auxiliary dash panel. They are listed here in alphabetical order, to make the information easier to find.
During normal operation, the transmission fluid temperature gauge reading should not exceed 250°F (121°C) at the sump. See Fig..
Notice: A sudden increase in transmission fluid temperature that is not caused by a load increase may indicate mechanical failure. Bring the vehicle to a safe stop and investigate the cause to prevent further damage. Do not operate the vehicle until the cause has been determined and corrected.
Note: Under heavy loads, such as when climbing steep grades, temperatures may climb above those given here for limited periods.
