Replacement of the Sleeper Air Filter

In vehicles with 60-inch and 72-inch sleepers, the sleeper air filter is located on the forward side of the blower fan housing, under the cabinet, directly behind the driver's seat. In vehicles with 48-inch sleepers, the sleeper air filter is located on the forward side of the blower fan housing, under the bunk, directly behind the driver's seat.
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, set the parking brake, and shut down the engine. Chock the tires.
- In vehicles with 60-inch and 72-inch sleepers, remove the sleeper HVAC access panel on the inboard side of the cabinet. See Fig. . The panel is held in place with four spring clips. Pull straight out to remove it.
- Lift the filter out of the slot. See Fig. for 60- and 72-inch sleepers, or Fig. for 48-inch sleepers.
- Install a new filter in the slot, making sure that it is completely seated in the slot.
- Install the access panel.
Important: When replacing the air filter, use only a Freightliner-approved air filter.
