- Disconnect the batteries at the negative terminals. Drain all air from the air system.
- Using the Borg Warner Service Alert Tool, check the clutch
wear as shown in Fig., and Fig..
With the fan clutch engaged, check the remaining life in the clutch liner.

- Connect the battery cables.
- Start the engine, and check for air leaks. Repair as needed.
Note: the Borg Warner Service Alert Tool
is available
at no cost. To get one, contact your Borg Warner representative.
If the tool is not available, use a 0.062-inch (1.57mm) feeler gauge to check the clutch wear.
