Replacement of the Cab Fresh-Air Filter

    Important: When replacing the air filter, use only a Western Star-approved air filter.

  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and set the parking brake. Chock the tires.
  2. Open the hood.
  3. Remove the intake filter access panel. Slide it down until it comes loose. See Fig..

  4. Remove the filter from the slot. Note the airflow directional arrow on the filter's edge. When properly installed, the airflow arrow will point inboard, toward the engine. See Fig..

  5. Put a new filter in the slot, making sure the airflow arrow is correctly oriented, and install the access panel. Make sure the access panel locks into position.
