Replacement of the Cab Recirculation - Air Filter

The recirculation air filter is located on the evaporator housing facing the interior of the cab just to the right of center. It is accessed from the underside of the unit. It is a coarse sponge, or fiber, filter. See Fig..

    Important: When replacing the air filter, use only a Western Star-approved air filter.

  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and set the parking brake. Chock the tires.
  2. Remove the dash front right-hand access panel.
  3. Remove the filter.
  4. Install the new filter.
  5. Install the access panel.
