Replacement of the Dual HVAC System Air Filter

The Dual HVAC System air filter is located on the forward side of the blower fan housing. In vehicles with 60-inch and 72-inch sleepers the Dual HVAC System air filter is located on the forward side of the blower fan housing, under the cabinet, directly behind the driver's seat. In vehicles with 36-inch and 48-inch sleepers, the Dual HVAC System air filter is located on the forward side of the blower fan housing, under the L/H side of the sleeper bunk.
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, set the parking brake, and shut down the engine. Chock the tires.
- In vehicles with 60-inch and 72-inch sleepers, remove the
sleeper HVAC cover on the inboard side of the cabinet. See Fig. . The panel is held in place with four spring clips.
Pull straight out to remove the HVAC cover. In vehicles with 36-inch
and 48-inch sleepers, raise the lower bunk to access the Dual HVAC
System air filter under the L/H side of the sleeper bunk. In vehicles
with 48-inch sleepers, the front center bunk partition will need to
be removed by detaching the lower bunk strut pivot to gain access
to the Dual HVAC System air filter by removing the 12 fasteners .

- Pull the filter out of the slot. See Fig. for 60- and 72-inch sleepers, or Fig. for 48-inch sleepers, or see Fig. in vehicles with 36-inch sleepers.
- Install a new filter, making sure that it is completely seated.
- Install the HVAC cover in vehicles with 60-inch and 72-inch sleepers or lower the bunk in vehicles with 36-inch sleepers or install the front center bunk partition by attaching the lower bunk strut pivot and lower the bunk in vehicles with 48-inch sleepers.
Note: When replacing the air filter, use only a Western Star-approved air filter.
