Engine Brake

Note: On some vehicles, the engine brake only has off and the high intensity level option.

The engine brake is controlled by the lever position as shown in Fig. . At the top position, the engine brake is off, and at the three lower positions, the engine brake is on and the intensity (low, medium, high) increases with each step down. For more information about using the engine brake, see chapter Engine Brake Operation.

Note: On some vehicles, the engine brake only has off and high intensity options.

  • Position 0: Off

  • Position 1: Low

  • Position 2: Medium

  • Position 3: High
