Gear Shift Position

The highlighted letter shown in the instrument panel indicates the gear shift position; P for park, R for reverse, N for neutral, and D for drive. See figure , item 7. If none of the positions are highlighted, a failure mode has occurred and could be due to a communication problem with the gearbox.
