Charging a Parked Vehicle

When a vehicle is parked and disconnected from a charger, make sure to turn off the cab load disconnect switch located inside the cab, behind the driver seat, as shown in Fig. .

Note: The cab load disconnect switch must be depressed for at least one second to respond. Momentarily pressing the switch will not activate it; this is to prevent accidental pressing of the switch. When the switch is on, the LED illuminates.

When a vehicle is plugged into a charger, and will remain plugged in until the next time it is driven, select 'Departure time' under the 'CHARGE BATTERY' settings menu to set the anticipated start of the next shift. See Fig. and Fig. . Setting departure time will allow the truck to keep high voltage on and maintain the LV batteries for up to 48 hours.

If a truck will be parked for an extended period (longer than 3 days) without being driven, attach a trickle charger to the 12V jump start posts, located under the hood on the passenger side, as shown in Fig..
