Sensor Monitoring Range
The sensor monitoring range begins at the front of the driver- and passenger-side of the vehicle and moves along the side of the trailer. This area is where the sensors can detect and evaluate vehicles and other road users.
Due to the limitations of the system, warnings may be issued in error when driving close to barriers or other solid boundaries.
Warnings may also be interrupted or inactive when driving alongside vehicles for a prolonged time or alongside particularly long vehicles.
The SGA2 system uses the side radar and truck data to assess entrance into the sensor monitoring area. This area depends on speed, turn angle, and driver activity. If equipped with ASGA, this enhancement uses proximity data for vehicles and other road users located within the passenger-side detection range to apply the brakes. ASGA only reacts to moving and stationary objects within the passenger-side detection range.
