Certified Clean Idle Labels (EPA and CARB)
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires model year 2024 and newer heavy-duty diesel engines to meet EPA requirements in order to limit emissions of particulate matter and NOx.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) requires model year 2008 and newer heavy-duty diesel engines to meet CARB’s Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine Idling Requirement in order to limit emissions of particulate matter and NOx.
Certified vehicles are equipped with labels placed near the bottom exterior edge of the left-hand door or on the left-hand side of the hood. If the vehicle is equipped with both labels, they may be placed in either location, together or separately. See Fig. .
