Traffic Sign Display, General Information

If equipped, the Detroit Assurance Traffic Sign Display system can alert the driver to posted traffic signs. Traffic sign display uses video data from the multipurpose camera in combination with GPS map data to recognize USA and Canadian traffic signs and display them in the instrument panel. GPS information dictates the language and style of the sign display. GPS map data also includes recorded speed limits, and the multipurpose camera decides if the map speed or visually detected speed is correct.
