Automatic Functions of the Mirror Camera System
The Mirror Camera System (MCS) is designed to adjust some features automatically but can also be adjusted by the driver as needed. The automatic adjustments that occur are:
-
Automatic Panning: The MCS automatically pans the displayed image during a forward turn to increase the view of the end of the trailer. This feature does not work in reverse.
Note: Automatic Panning can be disabled and enabled through the ICU. Navigate to ‘Settings' > 'Mirror Cameras’ and select ‘Auto Pan’ (for ICC5) or ‘Auto Panning’ (for ICUC). From there, Automatic Panning can be toggled on or off.
-
Automatic Brightness Control: The MCS automatically adjusts the display brightness based on the interior light levels and the dash brightness.
Note: Do not block the sensors at the bottom of the MCS displays, or this function will not work as intended.
-
Situational Awareness Lines: The MCS automatically shows situational awareness lines to provide better depth perception on the display. The red line indicates the back of the trailer, the yellow line indicates caution space, and the green line indicates ‘All Clear’ space.
-
Automatic Camera Defrosting: The MCS automatically engages the camera heaters at low temperatures to defrost the camera.
-
Automatic Night/Day Mode: The MCS automatically switches between night mode and day mode.
