Activating and Deactivating SGA2
SGA2 becomes active when the ignition is turned on. The driver controls its setting using the driver assistance screen of the ICU, also known as the digital switch, or a physical switch, if equipped.
The optional SGA OFF physical switch is shown in Fig. .
After SGA2 is turned off or turned into 'Optical Mode’ (where auditory alerts and ASGA interventions are disabled, but visual alerts remain active), it shall remain in that mode until the driver re-enables the SGA2 feature using one of the following:
-
the driver assistance screen on the driver display,
-
the switch, if equipped,
-
stopping and turning the vehicle off and on again.
SGA2 is automatically activated when the ignition is turned on. The ASGA relies on SGA2, and its activation is not controlled separately by the driver.
Although monitoring is continuous, the auditory and visual alerts can be deactivated partially (in 'Optical Mode’) or fully (only when full deactivation is possible). With the default setting, the SGA2 notifications are active for both the vehicle and the trailer.
A driver can override ASGA during a braking event by pressing the accelerator pedal beyond the pressure point to engage kickdown.
After stopping safely, the driver can use the driver display to change the alert settings.
