Mirror Display Selectors
The buttons at the top of the Door Switch Panel (DSP) are the mirror display selectors. If the Mirror Camera System (MCS) mode is enabled, these buttons select either the right or left MCS display to pan or to adjust the brightness. When either the right or left MSC display is selected, the Light Emitting Diode (LED) in the door switch panel button illuminates, and the mirror display is outlined in blue. See Fig. , item 1.
Panning to Set the Field of View Using the Door Switch Panel (DSP)
The camera view on the MCS can be adjusted to temporarily change or increase the field of view. This is especially helpful in reverse turning scenarios.
To manually pan the MCS, press the desired side button and use the right and left arrows on the DSP. See Fig. , item 2.
The MCS base view, or the saved field of view, can be adjusted on the ICU. Navigate to the Mirror Camera menu on the ICU by going to ‘Settings’ and then selecting ‘Mirror Camera.’ Select ‘Base View.’ A blue line appears on the MCS display, indicating that the base view is ready to set. Use the left and right arrow buttons in the mirror directional switch to adjust to the desired field of view. Press the MCS button, shown in Fig. , item 6, to set the new base view. This new view will be selected each time the vehicle is started until the view is changed again.
Adjusting the Brightness
The MCS automatically changes the display brightness based on ambient light conditions. To refine the brightness of the display, press the desired mirror display selector button, and press the brightness button, shown in Fig. , item 3. There are 5 brightness levels, each button press increases the brightness and then cycles to the minimum. The look down display brightness changes along with the driver display.
Shifting Between AUTO/Day/Night Mode
To change between auto/day/night mode, press the auto/day/night button, shown in Fig. , item 4. This is a global setting and affects all cameras and displays. If the MCS is set to NIGHT mode during daylight hours, vegetation will look pink.
There is no icon to indicate what mode is set. During daytime hours, the 2nd DAY mode is automatic and there is an approximate 10 second delay until the display mode changes as part of the hysteresis logic.
Setting the End of Trailer Line (EOTL)
The EOTL must be set before each drive, as part of daily pre-trip inspection. Use the arrows on the DSP to position the grey line at the end of the trailer. Press the MCS button to confirm. A red (end of trailer), yellow (caution) and green (clear) line appears.
Important: The EOTL must be confirmed or adjusted at each key cycle. The MCS loads the last saved EOTL, and is ready to set or adjust when the black line appears between the two fields of view on the MCS display. This black line will say to set the end of trailer line and to press the Mirror Camera System button. Place an item (like a water bottle, a binder, etc.) on the ground at the end of the trailer to ensure the line is accurate.
