Smart Battery Shut-Off Switch
Important: The keyswitch should be in the OFF position before turning the smart battery shut-off switch on or off.
The smart battery shut-off switch is a red switch located inside the cab on the outboard side of the driver's seat. See Fig. Smart Battery Shutoff Switch.
Smart Battery Shutoff Switch
A vehicle in daily use has the smart battery shut-off switch turned on, indicated by a red LED in the switch.
Turning the smart battery shut-off switch off minimizes the power draw on the battery, preserving battery life and the ability of the vehicle to start after being parked for a number of days. Set the smart battery shut-off switch to OFF if the vehicle is going to be parked for more than two days.
To avoid accidental activation, the smart battery shut-off switch must be pressed and held for two seconds when turning it on or off.
