Driving Scenarios and SGA Warnings
Important: SGA is only an aid. The system may fail to detect some objects and does not substitute for attentive driving. Always ensure that sufficient distance is to the side for vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, and obstacles.
The scenarios shown in Table.. assume both SGA Assist and Trailer Assist are active. If SGA is off in any of these scenarios, the driver does not experience the notifications mentioned. If SGA Trailer Assist is off, in the last scenario, the visual and audible warnings would not occur.

Moving detected while turning. If the driver signals or steers to the passenger-side and there is a risk of collision with an object, the red SGA warning lamp in the A-pillar flashes for a few seconds, a warning tone sounds, and the appropriate SGA warning telltale on the driver display screen. After flashing, the red warning lamp stays on as long as there is a risk of a collision. If the vehicle is moving at urban speeds and equipped, ASGA automatically applies the brakes. |

Limitations to detection of risk to the trailer's back corner while turning. The ability of SGA and ASGA to detect and react to stationary objects alongside the end of the trailer as it completes a passenger-side turn is limited. If the driver steers to the passenger-side there is a risk of collision without notification when the end of the trailer and its bumper reaches a stationary object. |

If a moving object is in SGA monitoring range when a driver signals or steers to the passenger-side, an amber warning lamp activates in the A-pillar and the appropriate SGA caution telltale appears on the driver display screen. Moving object detected by trailer sensor before a lane change. SGA warns the driver about stationary obstacles in the vehicle's range of movement up to a maximum speed of 22 mph (35 km/h). If there is a risk of collision with a stationary obstacle when turning, the red warning lamp in the A-pillar flashes, a warning tone sounds, and the appropriate SGA warning telltale appears on the driver display screen. The red warning lamp stops flashing after a few seconds but stays on as long as there is a risk of a collision. |
