Note: Only three types of USA and Canadian traffic signs are currently detected:

  • Speed Limit signs (from speeds 5 to 140)

  • Passing signs

  • Exclusion signs

Recognized Traffic Signs, USA

  1. General Speed Limit

  2. Truck Speed Limit

  3. Night Speed Limit (only at night)

  4. School Speed Limit

  5. Do Not Pass

  6. Pass With Care

  7. No Trucks

Recognized Traffic Signs, Canada

  1. General Speed Limit

  2. Speed Limit Ends

  3. No Overtaking

  4. Overtaking Permitted

  5. No Trucks

When a traffic sign is recognized by the system, an image representing it appears in the instrument panel. See Fig.Traffic Sign Display - ICUC and Fig.Traffic Sign Display - ICC5 . The ICU will display up to two traffic signs at a time. If more than two signs are recognized by the system, the most safety critical signs will be displayed.
