SGA Indicator Lamps

m2+ d 06.08.003

Note:  The telltales described as grey may appear white depending on the type of instrument panel installed in the vehicle. Amber telltales raise awareness of an object. Red telltales warn of a possible collision. See Fig..

On start up, the driver knows the vehicle is equipped with the SGA if the SGA icon appears in the Detroit Assurance screen along with ABS. An SGA initializing telltale, the first telltale in See Table., appears on the driver display as the startup sequence continues.

In a left-hand drive vehicle, the SGA activation state (grey) telltale appears to the left of center on the driver display driving assistance screen; the amber (not shown) and red warning telltales appear to right of center.

After startup, the driver display shows the status of the SGA and the conditions detected. If a trailer is not attached to the tractor, a grey triangle appears on the driver display screen as shown in Fig. 6.29. If a trailer is attached, a grey triangle with trailer appears.

If the SGA monitoring experiences an error or is deactivated without a trailer attached, a grey triangle with a slash appears.

If the SGA monitoring is deactivated with a trailer attached, a triangle with a trailer and a slash appears.

Note:  When the transmission is shifted to reverse, the SGA OFF telltale appears in the display until the transmission is shifted back to Neutral (N) or forward gears.

After the SGA is turned off, it remains off until the driver turns the SGA feature on using the driver display or by stopping and turning the vehicle off and on again. When the vehicle is running and the SGA is turned off, the driver display shows the Side Guard Assist Error or Deactivation telltales.

Alerts are color-coded to indicate severity. Red indicates a condition that may pose a threat to control of the vehicle. Amber indicates a condition that may result in damage to vehicle components or derating of engine power. Grey is used for notices.
