Park (P) Direction on the ZF PowerLine Automatic Shift Control
The automatic shift control for the ZF PowerLine may be equipped with a park (P) direction, shown in Fig. , ref. A. This position places the transmission in neutral and engages the park pawl of the transmission. Operators can use park (P) with the parking brake when turning the engine on or off, to check vehicle accessories, or to operate the engine in idle.
Note: The park pawl is not a substitute for applying the parking brake. Always use the parking brake when the driver is not in direct control of the vehicle.
